Training 2012

The team hold regular training sessions both in the huts as well as practical exercises on the hill. This training includes rope work, care of the casualty and first aid, helicopter safety, navigation and the use of radios. Members also attend specialist training courses in other parts of Scotland on subjects such as first aid, avalanche awareness and rigging for mountain rescue.

The slideshow below shows examples of training exercises. Firstly a training day with RAF Rescue 137 followed by an exercise on the Cioch. Other pictures include an exercise with Coastguard R100 and also an MRCofS level 3 avalanche training in Glenshee in February 2012. There is also an exercise in January 2012 which included helicopter training for aspiring team members, stretcher lowers down a snow gulley and winching off the hill by RAF Rescue 137.
